10/14/09 Bishop Foley Captures Back to Back CHSL Championships
Bishop Foley's boy's soccer team has won their second straight CHSL championship, with a 1-0 win over AAGR. Alan Wisniewski would score the game's only goal in the first half on an assist from Jonathon Weber after a great centering pass from Mike Oravetz. From there the Foley defense would take over. Kurt Weiss continued his great play on D, while Weber and Tyler Stephens would keep the pressure on AAGR all night. GK Andrew Claucherty would keep the shut out with solid goal play all night, including a great save in the closing minutes of the first half to help keep the lead.
With the win Foley continues their magical season, now 11-1-5. They play a district tune up game at Rochester High School on Saturday night at 6:00pm. District play then begins on Monday night as Foley takes on Notre Dame Prep. The game will be held at Detroit Country Day, game time is 7:30pm.
